BA Connecticut College

Educated in and successfully tested on courses given by Indiana University and sponsored by the International Society of Appraisers. These three courses covered the professional ethics of appraising,personal property methodology and reasoning, and the personal property appraiser's fiduciary responsibilities including government regulations and laws affecting appraisers, IRS regulations and requirements as they pertain to charitable donations, estate and gift tax, depreciation and casualty loss.

Educated in and successfully tested on a residential contents course given by the University of Maryland and sponsored by the International Society of Appraisers. This course covered the specialty area of appreciable and depreciable residential contents and is an additional step required before becoming a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property(CAPP), certified in residential contents.

Various lectures, seminars and workshops: Some of the topics covered included English antique furniture, Maryland silver, English ceramics of the gilded era, identifying oriental rugs, Victorian jewelry, chasing and repoussé on silver, appraising fine art, Japanese cloisonné of the golden age.
